Music Criticism

Landon Godfrey

Lonely, the dead

do their best

to entice. They purvey

their secrets

like department store clerks waving perfume cards.

They yell

at your dog, stomp

around, snore.

But ants drown out

all that opulent sound

jingling the spare

change in their pockets.

How noisy, the dirt.
