Down sick from the chill of March

Console this cursed heartbeat

at least            it was a home built inside illusion

While listening to devout prayers to the moon, after the rain lifted

threw away the sweaty pajamas

Warmed my lonely body

From somewhere, trudging

sorrow

Ask the moon, what about yesterday’s footsteps?

Enduring this itchy, throbbing chest

despite myself            gripping memory’s hand
