Animalia

Asheley Nova Navarro

I wanted to be the animal

In my country, a man’s shadow

Growing into God and kissing

A woman’s eyelid by the cathedral maybe

Not a kiss maybe

Not the man maybe

Not the image of a God

Maybe just an animal

Whiplashing

Zygomatic

And calling it survival

I wanted to be the animal

The four-legged beast

To rewind a man to dust

To stick it in the hourglass

Watch it split
