Life vs. Living

Rodrigo Toscano

Captive to our species’ drive, in the main

The rest is details. Living is details.

Life—is core. ‘Life vs. Living’, can speak

Is speaking. Are we practiced in its ways?

Is the question stocked by Living, not Life?

Life—is always in between everything

Holding the details together, offstage.

Now, Living wants a Solid Example

Until it doesn’t, and that’s Life for you

Slapping a good one on Living’s bottom

Because it can, and does, without reason—

Living butts in, insists, “rhyme has its rhyme

For reasons known to reason”, that’s to say

It’s butt hurt, in captivity, with drive.
